| When can I come to VBS?
Children age 3 by September 1st of the previous year through 5, not yet in kindergarten are invited to attend a Preschool week of Vacation Bible School. Children in Kindergarten through Sixth grade of the previous year are invited to attend an Elementary week of Vacation Bible School.
Vacation Bible School (VBS) is usually held the first two weeks after school is out in June. There are two fun-filled weeks with lively skits, crafts, music, and lessons about God's love for us. Preschool VBS (age 3 by Sept. 1st of the previous year through 5, not yet in Kindergarten) is usually held a week or two before K-6 VBS.
What happens during VBS?
VBS is a traditional setting with teachers/leaders assigned to a specific grade level. Children rotate with their teacher/leader between music, crafts and lesson time. Snacks are provided daily. Students in fifth and sixth grades are usually taken off site. They learn the same lessons as the Kindergarten through 4th grade students while participating in fun activities.
Each day the children and staff are invited to participate in theme day activities, funny hair or hats, for example. We collect an offering daily to be used for a mission project/group as determined by the VBS Directors. The week concludes with a Parent Performance/Program that allows the children to share with their families what they have experienced throughout the week. Vacation Bible School is an exciting week full of surprises, and we look forward to having you and your child be a part of it!
