Welcome to First Lutheran Church!
We know meeting someone for the first time can be intimidating, and going to a new church for the first time can be nerve wracking. We want to make your first experience at First Lutheran a great one! Below you’ll find information to help you get to know a little bit about us. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us.

When are the worship services?
We hold 3 worship services each week:
Sundays at 8:30am | Traditional Worship | Classic hymns and songs often led by our organ. Approx 60 minutes.
Sundays at 10:00am | Blended Worship | Present-day music of faith led by a worship team. Approx 60 minutes
Wednesdays at 6:30pm (September-April) | Contemporary Worship | Upbeat music and style led by a worship team with a very relaxed feel. Approx 45 minutes.
What about my children?
We believe that kids should have a blast at church every single week. At First Lutheran, we make this a priority. We welcome kids to stay with you for the entire worship, but we also have some special activities geared just for them. For kids ages birth-5 years we have a staffed Clubhouse (nursery) at each worship service, where there will be an activity and Bible story. We also have space outside the sanctuary (FLY Zone) where kids can crawl, play, and create with different crafts & activities, all where you can still see and feel like part of the worship.

Wednesday nights are busting with kids of all ages!  We offer our weekly programming for 3 year olds – 5th grade from 5:40-6:20pm and for our 6th-12th grade from 7:20-8:05pm.

What should I wear?
Whatever you’re most comfortable in! On Sundays you’ll see others in jeans, slacks, t-shirts, polos, and dress shirts. On Wednesdays it’s even more laid back, you’ll see others in scrubs, athletic wear, work uniforms, dress clothes, jeans, and everything in between. Come as you are!

How and when is Holy Communion served?
Holy Communion is served on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month, and at the Wednesday services that follow those Sundays. When communion is served, ushers will dismiss rows to go up to the front and receive the bread and wine or a blessing, if preferred. Gluten-free wafers and grape juice are available at all stations. All are welcome to join in sharing communion.
Where are you located?
For best results in a directions app, search for First Lutheran Church rather than typing in the address. Until 18th Avenue gets completed in 2024, typing in the address can lead to the wrong place, and we want you here with us, on S McKay Ave!

We hope to see you soon!
