First Lutheran Church is so much more than just a building. We are God’s people, gathered and scattered, called to be signs of God’s love to our neighbors and community. As it is written in Romans: “Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.” —Romans 13:8
Reflecting on our past, we see how God’s Word has been faithfully passed down from generation to generation within our congregation. Today, we witness a community that has grown closer to one another and deeply engaged with the world around us. Looking forward, we envision a thriving congregation, encouraged and equipped to live out our mission with passion and purpose.
Our goal for the next two years is to raise $1.9 million through our capital campaign, allowing us to eliminate the remaining debt on our new building. At the same time, we will be assessing what big plans God has for our future. We’ve named this two-year capital campaign “Set Free – Eliminating Debt, Unleashing Opportunities.” While this goal is ambitious, we believe God’s plans are even bigger. This beautiful facility serves as a launch pad for worship, learning, and serving. Based on our history of generosity, we are confident that this goal is within our reach.
We understand everyone’s circumstances are different. While some may be able to contribute financially above and beyond their regular giving, others may find it difficult due to their circumstances. Please know that every form of participation matters—whether it be your prayers, your encouraging words, or your financial gifts. Together, we can pay off our debt while continuing to support our ongoing ministry.
Commitment Week will be from Sunday, September 22 to Wednesday, September 25, 2024. You can submit your Set Free Capital Campaign pledge card at any time during that week. We will have a special processional offering during worship on those dates, where you can prayerfully commit your gift to God and to First Lutheran Church.
